Radio Is Down is an independently owned and operated record label located in the Northwestern nook that is Olympia, Washington. Radio Is Down is in the business of releasing quality recordings by bands who reserve the right to be themselves. The recordings that will be released on this imprint are by bands who excite us. We're more excited by sound and structure than we are by ostentatious stage antics. If you're an assbag, this label is not for you. We're interested in great music created by great people.

What Radio Is Down cannot afford to release, we will certainly make an effort to distribute through this site. If we support what you're doing, and you support what we're doing, we ought to be able to work something out.

Thank you for your interest in Radio Is Down.

Demo Policy
We're an awfully small label at this point. Regardless of the fact that funding is minimal, a solid recording is difficult to pass up. Feel free to send anything, and everything, our way. Please be sure to include a bio and a one-sheet with your demo. It's also not a bad idea to email us in advance so that we know to expect your recording.

Outside of the fact that assbags aren't welcome, we do enjoy a certain sound. The hope would be that this label would consistently produce said sound. Said sound would be loud and energetic. You could be instantly loud. You could be progressively loud. In rare cases, you may not be loud at all. It is requested that all recordings that are sent our way be of the best quality. We'll take it from there. Our releases are as unique in overall look and feel as they are in overall sound. Some would say that we're a collector's label. Silk screened, letter press, natural fiber packaging, embossing, serial numbers, etc.

Please be willing to tour at least 4-6 weeks annually. Tours can be regional, coastal, national, or international. Doesn't matter to us. One long tour will work. A few shorter tours will work. Radio Is Down is not a booking agency. Our focus is in the production, marketing, and selling of your recording. We'll support as best as we can but it'd be wise for you to plan on booking your own tours or find an agency willing to do so. At the very least, we'll steer you in the right direction as we've booked moderately successful tours for our own bands.
